Life Is Wonderful is a business that focuses on empowering people who are struggling with addiction by using methods of honest self-awareness. Self-awareness is defined as one's conscious knowledge of character, motives, desires, and feelings. Life Is Wonderful believes people who struggle with addiction and other matters such as family issues and spirituality can seek help only if they have the desire to do so. The founder of Life Is Wonderful, Hugo Vrsalovic, has created a unique twist on "The 12 Steps" called "The 12 Steps - Explained," which explains each step in a different way, hoping to get people to understand the Steps and become grateful for the Steps since the Steps can transform lives and help you be content. The 12 Steps involve having honest self-reflection, having positive support, making positive changes, and maintaining that positive change.


Life Is Wonderful has a goal of transforming the lives of people who are struggling with addiction and life by practicing self-awareness.

The founder, Hugo Vrsalovic, is the motivational public speaker for Life Is Wonderful and connects with audiences to help them think, feel, and see differently on life struggles. Hugo Vrsalovic uses personal experiences, humor, and scientific knowledge to make an impact. He speaks at middle schools, high schools, corporations, universities, and recovery centers. Currently, he is writing an audiobook.

How do the 12 steps work?

 

The 12 Steps are a journey into discovering the real you.  This self-awareness allows a person to live their best life.  Have deep, intimate, close relationships with people including yourself.  Healing yourself.  Living honestly and freely.

How does therapy work?


Therapy can help an individual cope with difficult feelings, problem-solve through issues, and change behavioral patterns that may be creating a negative impact on their lives. The person will talk to a therapist, a licensed mental health professional, who will help them improve their lives by developing better cognitive and emotional skills. This helps develop self-awareness of issues that need to be addressed. Talk therapy is the most popular type of therapy, although there are subcategories of therapy such as art therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and light therapy.
Therapy is unique in type and length of time as each individual has unique circumstances.

What is the difference between abstinence and recovery? 

 

People who struggle with addiction will need to have self-awareness in order to truly recover. Recovery is hard work.  Recovery is about self-discovery and healing oneself.  Abstinence or Dry Drunk keeps the addict with the same character as an active addict only they are not in their addiction.  They are still in their disease.

Is therapy expensive? 

 

Yes, it can be expensive depending on the therapist. Therapy sessions range generally from $60-$300 or more. This can depend on the time-length of your visits, the therapist's training, reputation, the location, your insurance coverage, and specialization. There can also be an initial consultation fee.  What value/cost do you place on your emotional/mental health?

Can reading help me with recovery? 

 

Yes. Excellent literature exists for any individual to discover and acquire wisdom about all topics including addictions, emotional health, character, behaviors, relationships, intimacy.


I am a parent. What should I look for in my child if I suspect they are using or struggling with an addiction?

 

Preventing addiction in your child can be difficult as you can't be with them at all times. You can find out if your child is crossing the line when they come back home after socializing with friends. Try having a conversation with your child and use your senses to know if they're using, such as looking at them in the eyes or smelling their breath. Red, bloodshot eyes can indicate that your child has been using marijuana and dilated pupils can mean they have been drinking.  Have they changed their friends, why?  Are grades slipping?  Are they more defensive?  Less open?  Spend too much time playing video games or on their phones?  Less interest in their hobbies/interests?  Do they seem more depressed?

How can I help my significant other recover from addiction?

 

Understand first that their journey of recovery can take years and not be in a straight line. An important factor is taking care of yourself first so that you can be there for your significant other when they need it. Help them develop self-awareness of their addiction and how it is negatively impacting their personal life. Set boundaries, practice self-care, educate yourself and get support from family and friends along with people who are in the same position. Overall, be patient with your significant other and show love for them.  You help by taking care of yourself.  Empowering yourself.

Can you define an addict? 

 

An addict is an individual with an emotional disease.  An addict can be addicted to alcohol, drugs, pills, gambling, food, sex, video games, shopping.  An addict cares more about their addiction than anything or anyone else.  An addict is sick and has a disease.  An addict needs help.  An addict will have an addiction that interferes with them having a positive and content life.

Can you define spirituality? 


Spirituality is the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things. It is the way of finding hope, comfort, and inner peace in your life. The way that people find spirituality can vary between religion, music, art, values, and principles.
